Data We Process

AfterText may process chats or messages you submit, images or screenshots you upload, OCR text extracted from images, analysis results, saved analyses, Coach conversations, Journal entries, small move activity, experience debriefs, growth reflections, account identifiers from Clerk, payment and subscription status from Stripe, and product analytics events through PostHog.

Journal, Growth, and Debrief Data

If you use Journal, small moves, growth loops, or experience debriefs, AfterText may store the entries or reflections you create along with lightweight summaries such as emotional themes, current focus, progress signals, debrief summaries, and next growth areas. These features exist to help you notice patterns and continue growth over time.

Journal entries and reflections may be processed by AI systems to generate summaries, insights, coaching responses, or progress signals. Where editing or deletion is supported in the product, you can use those controls. You can also contact support for data questions or deletion requests.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand product usage, improve flows, and debug conversion or usability issues. Analytics may include events such as pages opened, features used, upgrade flow steps, and non-private product behavior. We do not intentionally send private message text, journal text, uploaded image contents, raw emotional confessions, or raw relationship details in PostHog event properties.

Saved Analyses and Memory Continuity

If you save analyses, AfterText can use summaries and extracted patterns to build relationship memory features. Coach may also use live session context so it can follow the current conversation without asking you to repeat yourself.

Premium memory and growth continuity are intended to use compact pattern summaries, saved analysis summaries, Journal signals, and growth reflections, not raw old conversations, when powering Coach responses where possible. Free users should not receive premium long-term memory features.

AI Processing

User content may be processed by AI providers and automated systems to generate analyses, coaching responses, Journal insights, small moves, debriefs, summaries, and growth signals. AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete, and you remain responsible for how you use them.

Payments

Stripe handles subscription checkout, billing management, and payment status. AfterText stores subscription state needed to unlock Free, Trial, and Pro access.

Retention and Sharing

We retain data for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain your account, support product functionality, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms, unless deletion is requested or required. We may share data with service providers that help operate AfterText, including AI providers, Clerk, Stripe, Supabase, PostHog, hosting providers, and similar infrastructure vendors.

Safety Philosophy

AfterText is designed to support emotional intelligence, grounded confidence, consent, respect, healthy communication, and real-world emotional growth. It is not designed for manipulation, harassment, coercion, stalking, or pickup tactics.

If self-serve deletion is not available in the product, contact support@example.com for data questions or deletion requests.
